Elizabeth Stevens was Born on Aug 11, 1792 at London, England to Samuel Stevens and Sara Smith. She married Joseph Stevenson on June 28, 1812 at St. Saviors, (Now, London, England). "Elizabeth left for the British colony of Gibralter with her husband Joseph Stevenson, and their two youg sons, William and Joseph. Her husband was assigned as a cooper there. They had four other children born at Gibralter: Henry D., Edward, Elizabeth, and Mary. They left Gibralter for the United States, and arrived, 18 July 1828, on the ship "Constitution" there son, James was born in Albany, Jefferson county, New York. About 1830, they moved westward and eventually settled twenty-four miles north of Detroit near Pontiac, Michigan and purchased some wild land there. Joseph built a two story house, and finally bought out a Mr. Juss. It was an imporved farm. They were well situated and Joseph had plans to impove his property, but died in about September of 1832 before he could fulfil his dreams. She died on March 20th 1873 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. She was buried at Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County Utah on March 22, 1873."1 Elizabeth was baptized before 1833. In October 1834 Joseph Smith visited the Stevenson home.

DIED--in the 14th Ward of this city, March 20, of old age Elizabeth Stevenson (widow), mother of Elder Edward Stevenson, aged 84 years, 7 months and 9 days. Born Aug. 11, 1788, in London, England. Soon after her marriage she removed to Gibraltar, Spain where she resided about fifteen years. In 1827 she emigrated to Albany, New York State, then to Michigan, where she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in 1833, and in 1834, gathered to Clary County, Missouri. Soon after this the Church was driven to Caldwell County, Missouri., where she suffered the persecutions and Mobbings of Missouri, and was forced from her home, and with many of the Saints found shelter in the barracks of Montrose, Iowa. In 1846 she camped at Winter Quarters, and the following year crossed the great desert to Salt Lake City, where she lived and died a faithful Latter-day Saint, with a strong hope of a bright future. The day before her death she sat at the table at breakfast and walked around the house. She went peacefully to sleep without a single struggle. Funeral services at 11 a.m., tomorrow at the 14th ward Assembly Rooms. Friends invited--COM." Courtesty of Deseret News.
