Angel was past the point where she could have survived when she was surrendered to the ferret rescue. Medical care sooner would have saved her. Never have I seen a precious little one more starved, more neglected...every bone showed, not just the joints, but her eyes showed hope and life and I was going to give her every opportunity. I hand fed her a special nutrient dense soup until she could eat on her own. She lived only a few months but that time was spent in her own loving family. The ones we cannot help break my heart, but there are never any too far gone to benefit from love and care.
We will never forget you, Angel.
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan..."
from the book, Separate Lifetimes
"The Once and Again Prince"
