Russel Steve Brown, 63 of Columbus passed away Friday December 2, 2011, at Orlando, FL, after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Dubois Co, IN, son of William Russel Brown and Mildred M. Wahl. He married Anita Louise Zeigler, Jan. 12, 1969 at Columbus. She died Nov. 17, 1993. He married Mary Alice (Johnson) Robbins, May 27, 2000, at Columbus, and she survives. He retired from Duke Energy.

In retirement he enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing, golfing and camping, especially with camp club Sunny Memories. He loved to watch his grandchildren in any sport they played. He attended Terrace Lake Community Church and was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14th, at Terrace Lake Community Church, 4260 W. 200S. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbus Firemen's Cheer Fund, 1101 Jackson St., Columbus, IN 47201.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Russel is survived by a son, Frank Brown; daughters, Terra (Rob) Williams, Krista (Bill) Robbins and Wendy (Kyle) Czajka; and grandchildren Jacob and Makenzie Brown; Beth and C.J. Peace, and Jessica Peace-Blythe; and Jadden, Brooks, Will and Landon Robbins, Brycelyn and Brynn Czajka; and a sister, Barbara Heugel of Lakewood, Colorado.
