Mr. Peavy graduated from Presbyterian College and Mercer Law School. He was an Amateur Radio Operator, a member of the State Bar of Georgia, American Bar Association, and the Eleventh Circuit Court as well as former president of Peavy Concrete Products.
He is survived by his son, David Kirk Peavy, Jr.; daughter, Katherine Peavy Sima; their mother, Tina G. Peavy; grandson, Johnny Vincent Peavy; brother, Neal C. Peavy; Constance L. Archer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. A memorial service will be Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 11 o'clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd. (404)851-9900
