Attorney Paul Thomas Walker, Sr. a 1964 graduate of Morehouse College and a native of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on July 25, 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland.

While matriculating at Morehouse, Paul was elected President of both his freshman and sophomore classes and subsequently served as Vice President and President of the Student Government Association. He also served as a member of the Committee on the Appeal of Human Rights in the Atlanta University Center during the days of turmoil in the Civil Rights movement and was a very active participant in the protests. Even prior to Morehouse, Paul distinguished himself as one of the leaders of the nation’s only high school led sit-in demonstrations in his hometown for which he was honored in 2008 as a “History Maker”. Paul became a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Rho Chapter over 50 years ago, in 1962. As Co-Captain of the Morehouse Debating Team, his oratorical and argumentative skills contributed to the team’s many victories and foretold his professional career. He received a dual bachelor arts degree in history and political science.

Mr. Walker was awarded a Masters of Administrative Science (M.A.S.) degree, Johns Hopkins University and completed all requirements for M.A. degree, except language, in International Relations, School of Advanced International Studies (S.A.I.S.), John Hopkins University, and received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Georgetown University Law Center. He also matriculated in Study Programs at the University of London and the University of Ghana for Advanced African Studies.

As a practicing attorney with his wife and a Principal with Walker & Walker Associates, P.C., Paul was a Litigator and Manager of case development. He had more than four decades of educational, economic and legal experiences. Paul also held such positions as CEO, Navy Federal Credit Union, Washington, DC,; Asst. Director for Policy Development, Rouse Company, Columbia, Md.; Employment Services Representative, Governor’s Staff, North Carolina; Special Assistant to the President, Shaw University, Raleigh, NC; and Economic-Management Analyst, American Technical Assistant Corporation (ATAC), Washington, DC.

Paul was an active member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore, MD for more than forty years, where he served in many leadership capacities.

His wife of forty eight years, Attorney Betty Stevens Walker, is a graduate of Spelman College, Class of 1964, and a former Student Government Association President. Paul is the father of four children, Paul T. Walker Jr., Camarf (Cami) P. Walker, Dr. Tarik Dobbs Walker and Kumi Drake Walker and grandfather to eight children who will perpetuate his wonderful legacy. March Funeral Homes - East Baltimore in charge of arrangements.
