Joseph N. Chupp Jr., age 63 of Elkhart, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. Joe was born August 21, 1948 to the late Joseph N. and Janice (Redman) Chupp in Elkhart, Indiana.
Surviving is his wife, Marcia Chupp and his two children, Elisa (Russell) Gould and Christopher D. (Angela) Chupp, all of Elkhart, as well as 6 grandchildren; Shawn Chupp, Jessica Vitali, Scotty Holder, Kyle Chupp, Heather Holder, and Riley Chupp. Surviving as well are 4 great-grandchildren; Kaiya Chupp, Braxton Chupp, Destani Vitali, and Shawn Chupp Jr. Joe is also survived by his siblings, Eleanor Dovel, Daniel Metzger, Donna Jean Phillips, Jay Chupp, Mary Lamphier, Robert Chupp, and Rex Chupp. He was preceded in death by his brothers Kenny Metzger and Samuel Chupp.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
Mr. Chupp graduated from Elkhart High School in 1968, and was employed for over 20 years in the van conversion business at Coachman (now Glaval Bus) in Elkhart, before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed watching NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon, his favorite driver), the Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame. He was formerly World Ranked as a Professional Dart Shooter, competing in tournaments locally and nationally.
In his memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
