Comfort Barns, Jr.

born 4-3-1737

died 2-8-1816

married Hannah Cooey

Private from Massachusetts (disproven - see note below.)

From Liane Jensen on April 8 & 9, 2011:

Comfort Barns, Jr. being a Private from Massachusetts during the American Revolutionary War has been recently disproven. The military service was actually performed by another Comfort Barns, a cousin of this Comfort Barns, Jr.

However, Comfort Barns, Jr. (FAG #58821783) performed civil service and, therefore, is recognized as a Patriot by DAR. He is DAR ancestor, A006295.

**According to DAR, Comfort Barns, Jr. performed Civil Service, Patriotic Service, not Military Service and, therefore, was not a Private from Massachusetts.
