Tilfred Swenson Jr., 58, Shelly, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in his home. (Fredrikson Valley, Halstad).
Mr. Swenson, known as Fred, was born Aug. 18, 1945, in Crookston, Minn. He attended school in Shelly and graduated from Climax (MN) High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married Carole Oftelie on Nov. 10, 1968 in Crookston. they lived in Fargo. He worked for the Fargo Fire Department for a short time during the early 1970's and drove truck for local companies for many years. He later moved to Morehead, where he lived until moving to Shelly in 2002. He is survived by a son, Eric (Debbie), Raleigh, NC and one grandchild.
Visitation:Friday from 1 to 2 in fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, Minn. Funeral at 2 in the funeral home. Burial: Shelly Marsh River Cemetery near Halstad.
