Pearl Vance was the daughter of Susan E. (Barnett) Montgomry, and Virgil Berry Montgomery. She grew up
in the Non community, with her siblings, Lottie, Bearl, (her twin bro, 1905-1922), Hazel, Raymond, Lucille, Jimmie, and Truba.
She had 3 small siblings who died as children: Houston, Audra and Clifford.
She married Perry A. Vance, Sept. 9, 1922, and they made their home in this community where they farmed, living closeby to both sets of parents.
She was a faithful member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Non, from the age of 16 yrs, until she moved to Holdenville, where she belonged in her last years.
She was mother of five children, Doris Leota, Lloyd Bryant, Wayne Clark, and Winnie Mae, and a daugh having died 3 days old.
From 1947 to the mid 1960's, she and P.A., ran a mom and pop grocery and service station on US 75 Hwy, near Non.
She loved to crochet, which included making two bedspreads (one which won blue ribbons in both county and state fairs), making quilts, and raising flowers, especially roses. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, and her home was always open to friends of her kids, visiting ministers, and anyone who needed a place to stay.
