County Pioneer Resident Dies;
Rites Thursday
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian church here for Mrs. Emily L. Hudson, 73-year-old pioneer resident of this area, who died Tuesday following a lingering illness.
Rev. Paul Joy, pastor, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be made in the city cemetery with the Merritt Funeral HOme in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hudson, a native of Texas, had resided in Jackson county since 1889, moving here when the area was Old Greer county of Texas. She was married that same year to the late Walter Hudson.
She is survived by a son, Leslie Hudson of Weatherford, Okla.; three brothers, Jeff Chisum of Altus, with whom she made her home, Jess Chisum of Odessa, TX., Hugh Chisum, of McAllen, Tex., formerly of Altus; a half-sister, Mrs. Agnes Jasper of Stinnett, Tex.; six half-brothers, Shelby Chisum and Marshall Chisum of Pringle, Tex., Bill of Lubbock, Frank of Borger, and Cecil and Leonard of Pampa; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
