Eldon Frederick Eitzmann, 66, son of Otto and Neva (Schneider) Eitzmann, was born Jan. 21, 1932 on the home place, a farm in Republic County. He died Nov 1, 1998 at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior. He attended Republic County country school and graduated from Byron High School.
On Dec 3, 1952, he was inducted in to the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged Nov 9, 1954, and served with the US Army Reserves until Dec 2, 1960.
Dec 12, 1954 in Superior, he married Wilma Petersen. This union was blessed with four daughters. Wilma died April 1, 1972. On July 9, l983, in Superior he married Norma Fullerton Wilton.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hardy, for 28 years, the American Legion, Elks Lodge, a former commander of VFW Post all of Superior. He was a 4-H leader, a basketball coach and was on the Republic school board. He lived in the communities of Republic, Byron, Hardy, and Superior.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his first wife and a grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, four daughters, Mrs. Stephen Hill (LaRae), Mrs. David Jorgensen (Lorna), Mrs. Dennis Smith (Lisa) all of Lincoln, Neb. And Mrs. John Morrison (RaJean), Pleasant Hill, Mo; and a step-son, Steve Wilton, Superior, his father, Otto Eitzmann, Superior, nine grandchildren; two brothers, Loyal,, Auburn, and Rogers, Sidney, Iowa; three sisters Mrs. Stan Lang (Iverna) Edgar, Mrs. Burley Copas (Genell) Beatrice and Mrs Robert Avey (Twila), Lincoln, Neb.
Services were held Wednesday from the St Paul Lutheran Church, Hardy, with Pastor Howard Schroeder officiating.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with full military rites by the Superior VFW and American Legion posts.
Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior, was in charge of arrangements.
