Clyde T. Elliott, 80, of Dongola, died at 12:21 a.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, KY.
He was born June 12, 1923 at Patoka, IN, the son of John & Emma Slaugherback Elliott. He was married on Nov. 30, 1946 to Elsie Rider.
Mr. Elliott proudly served in the US Marines in World War II from 1941-45. He was a life member of VFW Post 6252 and the DAV Chapter, both in Comstock, MI. At the time of his retirement he was working as a boiler operator at Consumers Power Company in Kalamazoo where he had worked 29 years.
He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Perks. Survivors include his wife, Elsie of Dongola; a daughter, Nancy Kemp of Wellston, MI; 4 sons, Thomas Elliott of Perks, Jack Elliott of Ullin, Robert Elliott of Olmsted, and Fred Elliott of Cypress; 6 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mary Allen of Patoka, IN, Gladys Johnson of Battle Creek, MI, and Alice Evans of Kalamazoo, MI; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services for Clyde T. Elliott was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
