Undated Obituary Unknown Richland Center Newspaper (From family scrapbook)

Mrs. Lizzie Norman passed away August 15th, 1937, at her home in the town of Henrietta. Mrs. Norman was the daughter of Quinton and Susan Nicks and was born February 11, 1844 in Edward county, Illinois, and had reached the age of 93 years, 6 months and 4 days. She came to Wisconsin with her parents at the early age of seven years living for a while in Iowa county. She came to Richland county when ten years old and located in the town of Henrietta where she grew to womanhood and was one of the first rural school teachers in the township.

On December 1, 1868, she was united in marriage to George Norman at Richland Center, the officiating clergy-man being Rev. John Walworth. To this happy union four children were born, namely William, Ephraim, Loretta and Leo, all of the town of Henrietta. Mr. Norman preceded her in death over eleven years ago. She with her children has always remained on the same farm where they set up their home in 1868. Here she always kept her doors open to her friends and was ever ready to greet them with a smile of welcome. To know her was to love her and many were the homeless ones that found shelter beneath her roof.

She was a faithful member of the First Adventist church of Henrietta and in her daily life shone forth her Christian spirit for she always loved her neighbor as herself and spent her life doing good to others. We will miss her. Her chair will be vacant but we grieve not as those without hope.

She leave to mourn her passing the four children, two grandchildren, Mrs. Lois Morgan, and Mrs. Irvin Kloehn, and one great grandchild, George Irvin Kloehn, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Norman lived her life for others, she was all that a neighbor, friend, companion and mother could be and all will arise and call her blessed.

Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. O. Dietzman from the home the afternoon of August 17th, burial being made in the Woodstock cemetery.
