Mr. Edward H. Barfield, 73, died Thursday (December 6, 2012).
He was a native of Hahira but had lived in Waycross since 1958. He was employed with CSX as an electrician for 32 years. He also served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son to the late Harvey Barfield. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Zorn.
Mr. Barfield is survived by two daughters, Pam Carter (husband William L. "Bo" Jr.) of Nicholls and Angie Bryson of Waycross; four grandsons, Aaron Bryson, Brandon Bryson, Liston Carter (wife Brittany), and Dylan Carter; two great grandchildren, Brayden Edward Bryson and Mollie Reese Carter; his mother, Ruby L. Barfield of Bainbridge; a sister, Katheryn Brock (husband Billy) of Bainbridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday (December 9, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 until 3 o'clock.
