JEWELL M. Mitchell FARRAR, 76, of Milford, Conn., died July 16. She was the wife of the late Gilbert S. Farrar. The daughter of Rev. James Mitchell and Mary Jefferson Mitchell was born Nov. 11, 1928 in New York, N.Y. Mrs. Farrar was an elementary school teacher for many years at the William Samuel Johnson School in Bridgeport. She also worked part-time as a cashier for the former Milford Jai-Lai and for M&M Farms, Milford. She was a volunteer for Thresholds, Prison Outreach and Children in Placement, New Haven and served overseas in the Peace Corps. She is survived by a son, Marlowe of Foxborough, Mass.; a daughter, Suzette of New Haven; and two grandchildren. Survivors also include three sisters, Jean McQuire of Boston, Mass.; Jacqueline Lubell of South Norwalk and Pamela Franklin of Chicago, Ill.; and two brothers, Michael of Belmont, Mass. and David of Boston, Mass.She was predeceased by a brother, Peter.
