Marie-Louise Balian, 81, of DeWitt, NY, died February 21, 2008. She was a warm and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Rochester, NY, on May 13, 1926, and she graduated from Monroe High School in that city. She worked on the Manhattan Project at the University of Rochester during World War II. She was a member and past president of the Quarry Questers antique group. For 25 years, she volunteered with the Red Cross bloodmobile. She was an active member of DeWitt Community Church and a social member of St. Paul's Armenian Church. Her son, Paul, died in 1990. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward Balian; a daughter, Barbara (Peter) Rinella; two grandsons, Michael and David (Laura) VanGelder; and a brother, Hrand Saxenian. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, at DeWitt Community Church. Donations in lieu of flowers may be contributed to DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt, NY 13214 or to St. Paul's Armenian Church, 310 North Geddes St., Syracuse, NY 13204. Arrangements being handled by Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel.
