HEGINS - Elvin K. Troutman, 78, of 309 E. Mountain Road died Tuesday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.
He was a veteran of World War II; a graduate of the former Millersville State Teachers' College and Pennsylvania State University; a retired schoolteacher; and was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Hegins RD 1; Fountaineer Church Choir; Valley Lodge 797, F&AM, Valley View; Harrisburg Consistory; Shrine Drum & Bugle Corps; Zembo Temple; Zembo Luncheon Club; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Pennsylvania State Education Association; National Education Association; National Retired Teachers' Association; Tri-Valley Senior Citizens; Pennsylvania Dutch Chorus; Gratz Historical Society; and Hegins Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Troutman; a son, Douglas, of Stamford, Conn.; and a brother, Bruce, of Pitman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain. Burial will be in Fountain Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Hegins RD 1, 17938.
