Birth: Jan. 25, 1928
Boston
Suffolk County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: Dec. 28, 1944, Belgium

His sister Flo always referred to him as Jamesie. Uncle Whitey sometimes called him Lefty. He was a hockey player and played on the South Boston High Hockey Team.
His name is on the memorial wall just down the street from the Yacht Club in Southie. The Corner of Hamlin St and East 8th St is named for him. You could see the whole of the bay and all the ships going in and out of Boston Harbor from there. Few people know that his name is also inscribed on a memorial wall in the Fenway. The Fenway is part of the Boston Park system. If you walked out of the back door of Fenway park and headed toward Mass Ave you walk right into the Fenway.

The Division continued its push into Germany, crossing the Rhine River. On Dec. 16, 24 enemy divisions, 10 of which were armored, launched a massive counterattack in the Ardennes sector, resulting in what became known as the Battle of the Bulge. The Big Red One held the critical shoulder of the "Bulge" at Bullingen, destroying hundreds of German tanks in the process.
