"Anna Liza B. Clark" is how her name is written on the Missouri Death Certificate. Her daughter Margaret Clark Underwood is the informant, so this may be the most complete listing of her formal name I have seen. I found that her sister Pauline Morris Long named a daughter Anna Liza also. In census records from the 1800's she is listed as Ann. In 1900 and 1910 Greenfield, Dade County Census, after the death of Edgar, she is listed as Anna Liza Clark. In the History of Dade County she is Eliza, which I believe she was commonly called.

Eliza was an infant when her family moved from Boone County, Missouri to Cass County, east of the town of Harrisonville. She would have been about ten years old when when they made their last move to Dade County, Missouri, living between Dadeville and Bona. Her father died not long afterward. He was buried on their family farm property, the first burial of what became the Morris Cemetery.

Eliza's future husband, Edgar "Ed" Clark, became a partner with Eliza's brother Edmund J Morris in a Dadeville general store in 1867. Eliza and Edgar married in 1870. The partnership in the store continued until 1881, when Edmund sold out. The store moved to Everton for a few years, until closing in 1885. Edgar continued to work in sales at Everton, and was elected County Collector in 1888.

Eliza and Edgar are the parents of four children: Joannah, Margaret "Maggie"(December,1873-1949), married Price Underwood; Jennie C. born July 5, 1876 and died June 9, 1960, Greene Co, MO, married Fredrick L Shafer in 1902, a lawyer, he died of alcoholism June 9, 1925; and Edgar B.(1882-1939).
