Mrs. M.E. Morris,63 of Jefferson City, wife of Missouri's state treasurer, died unexpectedly Saturday.
A native of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Morris was the former Miss Annie Helen Adamson, daughter of John E. and Margaret Burk Adamson. She was known to her wide associates as Helen.
On Dec. 24, 1922 she was married at Trenton to M.E. Morris who was in the banking business there. He later served the area as a representitave to the general assembly.
The Morris family moved to Jefferson City in 1945.
Mrs. Morris was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here, the HM chapter, PEO, The Order of Eastern Star, Trenton and the Auxiliary at both St. Mary's and Memorial Community hospital.
Survivors include: one son, John A. Morris, a Jefferson City bank executive; one daughter, Mrs. Ellen June Croce, Kingwood.
Five brothers, Donald O Adamson, Web City, Hutton Adamson, Miller, Robert T. Adamson, Greenfield, Harlan Adamson, Fulton and Vencil Adamson, Springfield; and eight grandchildren.
