Minnie Willene Griffin, 87, of County Road 684 in Ranburne, Alabama, passed away on September 29, 2008. Mrs. Griffin was born on June 22, 1921 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Andrew and Mary Clelia White Jackson. She was a retired secretary for the State of Georgia Parole System and was a member of Sandy Flat Baptist Church. After her retirement with the State, Mrs. Griffin sold Avon for 14 years. She was involved in her community, having been a charter member of the Ranburne Garden Club. She was also a talented seamstress, wrote poetry and painted, and enjoyed crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Webster Griffin; her brothers, Lloyd, Leo, Woodrow, Van, and Ray Jackson; and her sister, Roma Allums.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Jean and Ralph W. Aiken of Douglasville, GA; her sons and daughter-in-law, Lemuel Roy Griffin and Charles E. "Chick" and Diane Griffin, all of Ranburne, AL; her stepchildren, William Leo Griffin, Thelma Toney, Runette Bledsoe, and Harvey Griffin; her sister, Lurlie Robinson of Heflin, AL;
25 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral service held on October 2 at Sandy Flat Baptist Church. Interment in the church cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
