Bunbun came into our life in 2006. She was a birthday present for our son who had just started 3rd grade. That summer he had been diagnosed with high functioning Asperger's. We had been through rough times because he had been misdiagnosed but we had hopes that now with the correct diagnosis and medications that things would begin to get better for him. So Bunbun came into our family at a good time. To me she was stood as a marker in time for when we started getting answers.

It was a typical afternoon today. We got home from school and we said hello to Bunbun. During the summer her cage was on our carport. She enjoyed watching the world go by. Anyway, we went in and I started preparing dinner. Our son plopped in front of the tv for a bit. Later my husband went outside to water the front flowerbed. Then at about 6:30 I went outside to check the hummingbird feeder and to check on Bunbun. She was laying on her side, not normal for her. I got my husband and said softly that I thought she had died. He checked on her. She was still warm but she had already passed on. He said she was fine when he saw her just a few minutes earlier.

We think she had a heart attack. She hadn't been sick at all so this is still a real surprise. We're going to have a burial this weekend in our backyard and we're going to make her a memory stone to go over her grave.

We'll miss you sweet bunny.
