February 13, 1958

Frances Elizabeth Dukes was born July 11, 1833 in Lucas county, the daughter of Oliver and Anna Duckworth and passed away on Feb. 7, at the Des Moines General Hospital, Des Moines, at 74 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Edward Leroy Dukes Sept. 23, 1903. To this union were born five children.

Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, one sister, and a son, John, at the age of two.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband, four children: Clifford, Riviera Beach, Fla.; Everett, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Fraulein Tacker, Chariton; and Donna Rae Reeves, Lebanon, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, four sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.

She has been a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church for many years.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Ronald D. Petrak on Monday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Miley Chapel. Burial was in the Bethel cemetery.
