2 month old Jamaree and his mother Cheryl were both murdered by a drifter on July 24, 1993.Cheryl Lewrisey Coleman and her son, Jamaree Clarence Coleman, visited her brother's residence during the early morning hours of July 24, 1993 in Brunswick, Georgia. They left the house around 3AM. Her brother offered them a ride, but Cheryl said she would walk. They were last seen getting into a pickup driven by Carl Harris at a gas station on Newcastle and O Street. Cheryl's body was discovered at approximately 9AM, 6 hours after she was last seen, in Academy Creek; the creek is infested with snakes and alligators. Detectives determined she was murdered and her body was nude and had been mutilated. There was no sign of Jamaree but his baby carrier and blanket were left behind. Carl Harris plead guilty to both murders and was sentenced to 2 life terms and 20 years for assault.
