Veteran of the Revolutionary War. He enlisted March 28, 1777, in Staunton, Augusta county, Virginia, served as a private in Captains John McGuire, Gist, and Smith's company, Colonel William Grayson's Regiment, was in the battles of Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, Paulus Hook and King's Ferry serving 3 years. His pension number is S2039. Married to Mary Wanless, they had two children Thomas Dudley and Mary Ann

Memorial #22683304 is for the same person, but listed in the wrong cemetery. Due to there being a Mount Tabor cemetery in Jefferson County, Ohio a mistake was made in the 1970's and a plaque was placed there.
