Judge A.G. Wilcox, a pioneer member of the El Paso Bar association, died Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital. Judge Wilcox came to El Paso in 1887 from Rockdale, Tex., and engaged in the practice of law here for a number of years until failing health caused him to retire from active practice. He acted as special judge in the county and district courts on a number of occasions and was recognized as having a splendid legal mind and a find legal training. He came from a family of lawyers and was well read in the law. His death occurred at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, after an illness which had extended over many months. He is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters; one, Mrs. A.L. Valdespino, lives in El Paso. Mrs. Rupert Moore lives in Glebe, Ariz., where Mr. Moore is manager of the string of banks owned by the Gila Valley Bank and Trust company. Albert Wilcox is a hydro-electric engineer for the Harrison interests in South America, and William Wilcox is a mining engineer in Mexico. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the Church of the Immaculate Conception and will be attended by the Bar association. El Paso Herald, December 25, 1913
