Grover served as a Private First Class in the 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 970 Clinton Avenue. North, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 9, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being employed as a Driver and also as Married.

He was first wounded in action on June 9, 1944, presumably in France. He was later "Killed In Action" in Belgium during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
