Calvin Seaton Fowler

Calvin Seaton Fowler died December 21, 2013. He was born on December 19, 1926, to Seaton and Cassie Fowler at Clarks, Louisiana.

He graduated from Clarks High School in 1943 and enlisted in the US Navy, serving 22 years. Calvin married Doris Kumberger on August 29, 1952, in Palisades Park, New Jersey. After retiring from the Navy, he became a tool and gauge repairman at AT&T in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he retired after 22 years.

Calvin was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, James and Robert; and a sister, Anne Smithey.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Fowler; daughters, Karyl Anne Bordner and husband Randall, and Mari-joyce Bradford; three granddaughters, Vanessa Smith, Rachel Bordner, and Amanda Bordner; a grandson, Anthony Bradford; sister, Maurine Long and husband Norris; brother, Carl Fowler and wife Joyce; nephews, Thomas Thompson and wife Donna, and Charles Thompson and wife Lisa; niece, Kimberly Smith and husband Jarred; five great-nieces, Lydia Thompson, Carol Thompson, Rebecca Thompson, Caroline Smith, and Katherine Smith; and many other family members and friends who knew and loved him.

Funeral service for Calvin will be held at a later date with family and friends coming together for a celebration of his life.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Ministries in Jefferson, Texas.
