Daniel Keifer Sumner
(March 15, 1926 - February 9, 2012)

Daniel Keifer Sumner, Jr., a long-time resident of Shreveport, LA was born March 15, 1926, and went to be with the Lord, February 9, 2012.

Mr. Sumner grew up in Ida, Louisiana, served in the U. S. Air Force returning to northwest Louisiana. In later years he made his home in Shreveport, LA.

Preceded in death by his parents Daniel Keifer and Minnie (Norton) Sumner, his brothers, James Sumner and Cecil Sumner.

Survivors include his daughter Angela (Sumner) Benson and husband Wes, step-son Philip Buckalew, nieces Freda M. Powell, Barbara McFatter along with a number of dear friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home, 1107 South Pine St., Vivian, LA. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., February 12, 2012, at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home followed by graveside service at Bethsaida Cemetery in Ida, La. Reverend Jerry Means will be officiating. Our hearts are heavy as we love and miss our sweet daddy and dear friend.
