George was the son of John Neifert and Maria Magdalena Petri. He married Salome Grunewald and Mary Swank.
As a Lutheran, he is found on the confirmation list of the Allemangel Records (Vol. 1-B), New Jerusalem Church (later called the Red Church), for the years 1817-1822. In 1828, George and John Miller were administrators of his father's estate worth $1,473.03. They sold the Neiferd property and distributed the proceeds to his mother and the three surviving children - George, Jacob and Isaac.
After receiving his inheritance, George migrated to Sugar Creek township, Stark Co., Ohio. In 1847, the year that his grandson Daniel Whitmore was born, he moved the family to Van Wert Co., Ohio.
George was a farmer, a Democrat, and belonged to the Dunkard Church of the Brethren. He died of consumption. There is a "Neiferd Road" in Van Wert County.
