Ms. Snyder, of Kailua, Hawaii, was an arborist for The Outdoor Circle, the oldest nonprofit environmental group on the islands. The 32-year old had worked for the group for six and a half years and was the project manager for landscape and planting. She was survived by her husband, Ian Pescaia, her cat Horace and her pit bull Zeus. She was flying home after attending an American Forestry Conference in Washington, D.C. and seeing New York City for the first time. As part of her job, Snyder had once been involved in a long fight with developers in Waikiki to save several large old banyan trees at a building site. Those developers later sent flowers to a memorial service held for her in September, 2001. (Bio by: Melanie)
