William married Margaret Stroupe of Rogersville, TN in 1907. In Jan of 1908 they moved to Langdon, MO farming and started their family of four children. They farmed when they moved to Siam, New Market and Clarinda, IA.
When the moved to Braddyville, IA in 1941 they operated a produce and feed business for several years until retirement.
He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. They had celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on 19 Jan 1975. At the time of his death he was the oldest living person in Braddyville, IA.
