"Services for Paul H. Bloomquist, 75, of Apache Junction will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lost Dutchman Park recreation hall, 400 N. Plaza Drive, Apache Junction. He died Saturday April 12, 1997, in Apache Junction. Mr. Bloomquist, a mill worker and World War II U. S. Army veteran was born in Lehigh, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, stepdaughter Sherry Willey, stepson Elvin Klein, brother Lawrence, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials: Hospice of the Valley, 2601 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Melcher's Mission Chapel handled arrangements."
Although Paul's ashes have not been interred, he shares a headstone with his first wife, in this cemetery.

"Paul H. Bloomquist, 75, Apache Junction, Ariz. formerly of Fort Dodge, died April 12, 1997, at his home in Apache Junction after a long illness.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Community Recreation Center, Apache Junction.
Surviving are his wife Betty, 10936 East Apache Trail, Space 2, Apache Junction, Ariz., 85220; step-daughter Sherry Willey, Biloxi, Miss.; stepson Elvin Klein, Dayton; four step grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and brother Lawrence, Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, first wife, and two baby daughters.
He was born Jan. 15, 1922, and raised in Webster County. He attended school and helped farm in the Lundgren area. At 15 years old, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and helped with construction in the state parks in Webster County and Ledges State Park, Boone. He served two years in the army in the European Theater. He then worked at Lehigh Tile Company and International Farming Equipment, Fort Dodge, before becoming employed with United States Gypsum Company, where he worked 39 years before retiring in 1984. He married Betty Klein in 1980 in Lehigh. They traveled and wintered in Apache Junction, Ariz., the past six years.
He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1856 and Trinity United Methodist Church, Fort Dodge."
