Long-Time Craigmont Resident Is Dead
July 26, 1943
Craigmont, July 27, Mrs. Jane Crawford, 76, who has resided here the greater part of the last 47 years, died yesterday at Kamiah after an illness of several years. Malinda Jane Thornton was married to Samuel M. Crawford in 1893, and they settled in this district when the reservation was opened in 1896.

Mrs. Crawford was born at Amity, Ore., March 30, 1867. She is survived by four sons, James Crawford, Winchester; Charles Crawford, Spalding; Arthur Crawford, Kamiah, and Samuel Crawford, serving with the armed forces in the middle east; three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Kelly, Gifford; Mrs. Mable Wamsley, Craigmont, and Mrs. Lillie Stephens, Winchester; two sisters, Mrs. Lude Keneston, Walla Walla, and Mrs. Ida Richardson, Nevada; 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The body is at Clovis funeral home with funeral services set for Thursday afternoon at 2 at the Presbyterian church here.
