Carla Jan Gamblin ended her earthly walk on Friday, April 5, 2013, and is now walking with her Lord and Savior in heaven and singing His praises forever. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Weatherford Animal Shelter or Bethel Methodist Church. Carla was born in Fort Worth Dec. 18, 1957, to Carlin and Janice Gamblin. Carla lived in Weatherford for the past 6 years and previously in Mineral Wells. She was a member of Bethel Methodist Church. Carla graduated from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth. Although Carla suffered with cancer for 30 years, she had a strong spirit and never quit fighting. She always had a beautiful smile for all and her love extended to family, friends and all who knew her. Her love of animals is evidenced by her dog, Duke, four cats and any stray animal that needed a home. A special thank-you to Dr. D'Spain, Dr. Rheams, Dr. Oseni, the nurses in ICU at Weatherford Regional Medical Center and Covenant Hospice. Carla was preceded in death by her dad, Carlin Gamblin. Survivors: Mother, Janice Jones and friend, Bill Polly; sister, Cindy Davidson and husband, Randy; stepmother, Martha Gamblin; fiance, Paul Sutton; special friend, Robin Pritchard; four nephews; five great-nephews; two great-nieces; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
