James R. Jackson died at the home of his son, B. C.(S.) Jackson at Earlston on Monday, March 15, 1920.
He was a son of Mr. Stiles Jackson and was born at Akersville Jan. 31, 1845, being aged 85 years, 1 month, and 14 days.
He was united in Marriage at Akersville September 15, 1867, to Martha Hanks who preceded him to the spirit world.
Mr. Jackson was well known and highly esteemed man. The greater part of his life was spent at Akersville where he always took an active part in public affairs.
He was a faithful and consistent member of the M. E. Church.
The following children are left to mourn of his demise: H. M. Jackson of Akerville; Mrs. E. E. Akers of Crystal Springs; C. M. Jackson and H. E. Jackson of Altoona; B. S. Jackson of Everett; Mrs. B. M. Stewart of Hooverville; T. E. Jackson of Breezewood; Attorney J. R. Jackson of Chambersburg and P. I. Jackson of Riverbank, California.
Funeral services were held at Akersville on Wednesday, Rev. R. L. Allen officiating. Interment was made at Akersville.
