At age 7, Harold has a setback from the mumps and got spinal meningitis; and did not grow for the next 5+ years. Then he seemed to grow a foot and appeared to be all arms and legs. This was just at the time he was entering Lexington High School, and received the nickname "Ace". He also attended Kearney State College for a short time.

Harold attended church camps and at one of these camps he was baptized by emersion. Prior to that, in 1938, in our church, he was baptized by sprinkling.

While Harold was attending Lexington High School, he drove a Crosley car which his father painted the school colors of orange and black; and also painted "LHS" on the back. The kids in school accepted the car as the school mascot. They even put it on the stage for pep rallies. He graduated from LHS in 1951.

In 1951, he married Ruth Carson and to this union a daughter Debra was born. They later divorced in 1955.

In 1955, Harold married Shirley Cheney to this union Monte, Marci, Lee, Tim and Doug was born. Harold moved his family to St. Louis, Missouri in 1957. A few years later they moved to Nampa, Idaho where he attended Northwest Nazarene College. Later the family moved to Seattle, Washington and back to Nampa Idaho.

For a few years Harold held the Wednesday evening worship services at the Light House Rescue Mission in Nampa. Then he spent the last four years of his life visiting people in nursing homes for Heart 'n Home Hospice.

He was always kind and generous, ready to help others. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Harold is preceded in death by his father Lawrence Anders, mother Sylvia Anders and his wife Shirley Anders.
