Miss Universe Contestant. She started her modeling career at age 12, when her neighbor got her an opportunity to model for a Wearhouse ad. She studied at Bishop Cotton School and St. Joseph's College, both at Bangalore, India and was groomed as a model by Prasad Bidapa. In 1997, she was the winner of the Femina Miss India Universe contest and was crowned to represent her country in the Miss Universe Pageant. She had acted in the television series Cats and was a MTV video jockey. She was also a part of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organization for animal protection, and wrote a weekly article. She committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home in Mumbai, India. She was engaged to be married on August 28, 2004.
