Lewis is age 19 and living with his father Jesse F, age 51, mother, Susan age 48, and siblings Catherine age 26, William age 22, Eli age 18, Eliza J age 14, Anna age 12 and Aaron age 9. His father was a farmer.

Per 1870 Census: Decatur Township, Southport Post Office
He is age 29 and occupation listed as a Blacksmith, living with Mary Johnson age 30 and her 8 year old son William. Also living there was another blacksmith name Isaac Coppic age 35.

Per 1900 Census: Decatur Township, Marion County
Lewis is age 59, born Aug 1840 and living with wife of 29 years Phebe age 48, daughters Iva age 21, Alda age 16, and Elsie age 9. (9 children, 4 living)

His parents were born in Ohio.
He enlisted in CO E IN 12th Inf Reg and mustered out on 08 June 1865 at Washington DC.

This gentleman was moved from the West Newton Cemetery to Easton Cemetery according to West Newton Cemetery Burial Book 1892-1989.

Cause of death: Tuberculosis
