Civil War Veteran.
Enlisted on 10/11/1862 as a Private.

On 10/11/1862 he mustered into "D" Co. 12th Indiana Infantry.
He was Mustered Out on 6/8/1865 at Washington, D.C.

Marriage: 11 OCT 1855 to Sarah Jane Minor in White County.

1860 Census He was working as a well digger and lived in Lafayette. He was listed as "Frank" so it appears he went by the middle name rather than the name he shared with his dad.

He lived at Brookston (White County) at the time of his enlistment in 1862.

1870 Census: Lucas was counted twice, once in Feb and once in June at two different addresses in Indianapolis. He was working as a city police officer.
