PILLAGER - Kathy Lynn Doty, age 55, of Pillager, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minn.
Kathy was born April 5, 1952, at Martinez, Calif., the daughter of Lawrence and Betty (Wood) Andreoff. She moved with her family at a young age to Minneapolis where she grew up and attended schools. She then worked at a nursing home in New Hope for a time. That is where she met her husband, Thomas E. Doty. They married on May 21, 1971, at Watertown, S.D. They lived at Plymouth, Minn., on Medicine Lake for a time and then moved to California in 1973. They lived there until 2001 when they moved back to Minnesota. They lived in Palisade for a year and then moved to Pillager where they have lived since. She had been involved in coaching soccer, worked as a crossing guard and served as den mother with the Cub Scouts while they lived in California.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Doty, of Pillager; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew Earl and Rosie Doty of Las Cruces, N.M., Daniel Thomas and Kelly Doty, of Lathrop, Calif.; three grandchildren, Catarina Diane Doty, Tyler Thomas Doty and James David Coble.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Steve.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at 1 p.m. from Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade with the Rev. Lance Isaacson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
