He was the son of Enoch Buffington and Lydia Troutman who moved their family from Dauphin County to the Jefferson-Armstrong county area. Isaac married his wife, Sarah Herring, according to her Obituary, at Langville, Jefferson Co., PA. [please see link to his wife's online memorial]. Isaac Buffington was a prominent man from a prominent family the area. His occupation was farming and carpentry.
