Funeral services were held Tuesday evening January 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington, for Raymond Schmitz, 54, of Grafton, who died at Mount Sinai Hospice, in Glendale.

Services were conducted by Father Rolland Glass, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, in Port Washington. Arrangements were made by Poole Funeral Home.

Mr. Schmitz was a lifelong resident of the area, born in the Town of Grafton on November 21, 1927 to Henry and Yuba (Harnack) Schmitz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and drove a truck for H & K Concrete Products of Grafton.

Mr. Schmitz married Betty Mae Ramthun of Grafton on November 23, 1981, in Glendale.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, brother Roland (Joyce)Schmitz of Prescott AZ, and sister, Florence (Elmer) Wille of West Bend.

Memorials may be given to the Mount Sanai Hospice.
