A Chouteau soldier is the latest state Vietnam casualty the Department of Defense announced Monday.
Army Pfc Gary L Hoskins 20 was killed in action Aug 12. He had been in Vietnam a month to the day.
Hoskins died when an Army landing zone where he was stationed came under attack from hostile fire.
A native of Pryor, Hoskins was a graduate of Chouteau High School. He entered the Army Feb 13 and was shipped to Vietnam July 12.
He is survived by his widow Rosanne; his parents Mr and Mrs Garrett H Hoskins of Chouteau and a brother Garrett Gene Hoskins of the parents' home. The body will be returned to the Green Funeral Home in Pryor.
