Services for Samuel Levi Netherland will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with the Rev. Jim Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Mr. Netherland, age 78, of Alexandria, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 in his residence.

Mr. Netherland was a member and deacon of Twin Bridges Baptist Church. He also was a Mason. He was a small business owner. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in Okinawa from 1944 to 1946 in the Commanding Aircraft Service Unit F-3.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha E. Netherland.

Samuel Netherland is survived by two sons, Sammy R. Netherland and wife Carol of Alexandria and Jerry L. Netherland and wife Nancy of West Virginia; three sisters, Eunice Richey of Manifest, Adelia Sandifer of Manifest and Marie Ford of Jena; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Ewing, Jason Netherland, Scott Netherland, Al Johnson, Ernie Hall and Steve Lloyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev.Coiedia Reynaud and Freddie Richey.

Friends are asked to call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of service Friday at John Kramer & Son.

The family has requested memorials be sent to Twin Bridges Baptist Church, 611 Twin Bridges Road, Alexandria, La. 71303.
