One of the more prominent Republicans of his time in Wabash Co. Indiana. George was Sheriff of Wabash Co. Indiana (1908-1912) and also served as Chairman of the Wabash Co. Republican Party Central Committee in 1912 and 1914. A sucessful businessman, he owned a dairy farm north of Wabash as well as what was known as Parks Bros. Livery & Transfer at Wabash. He died as the result of a burst appendix at the Wabash hospital and is buried in the Freeman plot near his sons, Glen Alexander and Lawrence Freeman.
