Widow of the First White Child Born in Chicago Passes Away at Age of 80.
Mrs. Susan Miles Beaubien, a pioneer resident of Chicago, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R. S. Beaubien, 26 North Long Island avenue, yesterday. Mrs. Beaubien, who was 80 years old, had been a resident of Chicago since 1839.
She was the widow of Alexander Beaubien, the first white child born in Chicago, who died two years ago, and whose father, Gen. Jean B. Beaubien, settled here in 1804. Mrs. Beaubien is survived by her daughters, Mrs. R. S. Beaubien, who married a cousin, and Mrs. Jean Waite, and her sons, William B. and Harry Beaubien, all of Chicago.
