Son of O. E. Wilkinson and Muretta Crockett according to marriage record and he was born in Camp Joe Holt in Indiana. My grandmother states he was born AL most census records.
Another marriage record for a Joseph W Wilkinson, also in Polk county IA, in 1887 married Ida M Canada. His father was also O. E. Wilkinson, and mother Martha Carter. Unsure if this is of any value.
Married Etta May LaRue in Polk county 26 Apr 1892
1895 Iowa census he lists born in AL
Around June of 1900 my grandmother had him removed from the home and divorced him. He was said to have been sent to the sanitarium where he lived until he died.
On June 1 of 1900 my grandmother was staying with her aunt Emma LaRue Force and appears on that census. She then appears on the same 1900 census on Jun 27, 1900 now back in the home with only her mother and brother which substantiates the information I have that something big happened to the family in June of 1900.
