Robert Verdon Pugh, 91, died on September 14, 2007, at home after a brief illness. He was cared for by his wife, Violet, for 62 years.
Bob was raised on a farm East of Denver. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II at Henderson Field in Guadalcanal and was wounded in New Guinea.
An army nurse, Violet met Bob during his recovery when he was her patient. They raised 3 daughters near San Francisco, where Bob worked for United Air Lines for 36 years. They moved to Olympia in 1979.
Bob was a Mason for 60 years and was active in Job's Daughters, Bethel 51, Tumwater, for many years. He stayed busy woodworking, quilting, square dancing, and volunteering at Capital Medical Center. He was a loving husband and a wonderful dad who will always be remembered by those who knew him.
