Son of Edmond Cole and Mahala Monroe. Husband of Lula Mae Reynolds.

George Cole, 79, of Minford, died at 6:45 a.m. today at Southern Hills Hospital where he was admitted shortly after noon Thursday.
He was a native of Scioto County and a retired Detroit Steel Corp. rod and wire department employee. A charter member of Harrison Mills Church of Christ in Christian Union and Sunday School superintendent for the last 27 years. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union.
Surviving are his wife, Mae Reynolds Cole; three daughters, Mrs. Tharlene Conklin of Wheelersburg Rt. 1, Mrs. Wilma Conkel of Columbus, and Mrs. Rowena Horsley of Garrison, Ky.; a brother, William Cole of Lyra; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Mills Church, with Revs. Richard Humble and James Stone officiating. Burial is to be in Bennett Cemetery under the direction of the Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday, and at the church an hour before the service.
